Pupil of Blanche Odin, recognized artist exhibited at the Salies Museum - Bagnères de Bigorre, Madeleine DOUBRERE has created many works, mainly floral still lifes, inspired by the surrounding nature.

The society of the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century did not facilitate the recognition of the talent of women painters. Madeleine DOUBRERE nevertheless frequented the world of artists and salons and exhibited in Bordeaux, Pau, Tarbes, Auch, Saint-Gaudens...

Her watercolors adorn the walls of many Marciac houses.

The works presented here were bequeathed to the municipality of Marciac in 1971 by Mr. Pierre Lannes. They are listed in the "Supplementary Historic Monuments" inventory.
